new! old! vintage! rare! long thought lost but unearthed JUST in time for the release of richard rushfield’s new hampshire college memoir, in which it is shown that campus-wide lynch mobs wanted my head on a pike & had to settle for a written apology stuffed in each and every mailbox… and only because the environment at that time was not safe for releasing a video such as this. now, everyone has matured & gotten a sense of humor & everything’s all better. but really i am very sorry for helping (by standing in the woods?) to allow an environment to flourish in which mass hysteria ran wild and people were swept up by groupthink and turned into sheeple and they weren’t happy at all.

i’m not tagged on this video in any way so you’d never know i had any part in it but if you read the credits at the end you’ll see. this was the best thing i did in years was collaborate with marc on this video. i think i got invited in b/c i took care of barkley a few times & i had great affection for him, still do though we’re estranged on account of my recent-ish hermitude. anyway, next time i collaborate on something w/marc i’m going to make sure that MRP is a co-producer and that i’m tagged or mentioned in the description so ppl will find it when they google me!!!

this was my best hooping experience in my life EVER. it was entirely transformative. my entire problem has been finding the right music to hoop to – something i like but that also has a certain kind of beat…? well then i happened to invite “bucket” bennie johnson to come perform at the big freedom center gala benefit (which was attended only by FC people but we were kind of happy about it as we’re all social-phobes) and then when he started to play melissa & i started dancing, then hooping, then i ran & got my LED hoop and bennie & i just started improvising off each other, it was wild.

i saw him a few weeks later & told him how i felt & he was totally excited too… we agreed to collaborate. but i haven’t seen him since b/c i’ve been in non-stop freakout mode. but still i hope it happens this summer at least. i think it would give both of us the artistic boost we need… neither of us would just be that weirdo doing this or that, we’d be an “act” and a team.

however, i couldn’t get a recording of bucket bennie to use for this video, so i had to go with the next most-seemingly-appropriate thing, a song by wesley willis. wesley willis is an odd duck. he’s schizophrenic and is an amazing street artist (or was, he might have either made it big & gotten a home, or died, i’m not sure which if either.) he also wrote some crazy songs & some ppl found him funny & gave him a backing band. the sad thing is that people are more into him “ironically” thinking he’s really bad & therefore funny, instead of how i see him – as a really great voice for the schizophrenic, and a funny guy, and a great artist. i don’t love all his stuff but this one ain’t bad. my favorite is a song about having a psychotic breakdown in the drugstore. and then “i’m sorry that i got fat (i will slim down).”

salvia! is a fictitious work about two “loser hippie freaks” who inhale salvia, a legal, short-acting psychedelic, and the hilarity that ensues. featuring kevin cullen and jenna wikler as the hippies, this movie, which has already gone viral on youtube, is also remarkable in that it is the first collaboratively-written screenplay by jenna wikler and marc israel and is mischief robot productions’ first collaboration with step offa my tip, bitch! films. melanda green directs. featuring original music by earnest p. schnockelheimer, ph.d. and loren mazzacane connors.

after a long hiatus, mischief robot productions is back! for over a year this domain simply redirected to our sister site, nohohoops.org. but now it’s time to use this space to show off mischief robot’s creative works and possibly discuss works-in-progress. plus, i can’t rightly go printing up those much-needed business cards without a proper website to point to. and i’m sick and tired of hot dudes & dudettes asking for my number and having to scrounge around for scraps of paper & pens when i could simply pull out a calling card.
